Info Construction : Latest Developments and News on the Work

Parking Reminder at the Town centre

As construction work continues in the Town cent54 area, residents are reminded that the usual parking regulations remain in effect on surrounding residential streets. All applicable parking restrictions, including the 4-hour parking limit, continue to apply and will be enforced. We thank motorists for respecting the posted signage and parking regulations to help ensure a positive experience for area residents.

Water System Shutdown – Brittany Avenue – Thursday, July 23

  • Complete shutdown of the water system for this area, starting at 7:30
  • Expected duration: approximately 6 hours
  • Affected residents have received a letter informing them of this

Closure of Bates Road – Thursday, July 23

  • Complete road closure for grading work
  • No parking or through traffic allowed; local traffic for residents will be permitted
  • Expected duration: all day

Davaar Avenue Closure - July 20 to 22

The Borough of Outremont will be carrying out construction work from July 20 to 22, resulting in the closure of Davaar Avenue.

Please note that construction work on Bates Road is ongoing. As a result, this closure may lead to a slight increase in traffic on Bates during this period.

Street improvement work on Cornwall Avenue: Starting June 29

  • Start date: June 29
  • Duration: Approximately 6 weeks

Cornwall Avenue will be closed to all traffic between Regent Avenue and Canora Road for the duration of the work. Pedestrian access to businesses will be maintained throughout the project. Residents will continue to have access to parking areas via entrances on Regent Avenue.

Regent Avenue will be reduced to one-way northbound traffic between Balfour Avenue and Vivian Avenue.

Major construction by Hydro-Québec – Dalton Road: June 1 through July 17, 2026

  • Road closure (674 m); please follow the detour signs
  • Complete closure southbound from Dalton, between CDL and Andover
  • Complete closure eastbound from Andover, between Dalton and Delmeade
  • The intersection of Cavendish Boulevard and Dalton Road will remain open on weekdays and will be closed on weekends

Redevelopment Roadworks - Plymouth Avenue

Street improvement work on Lucerne Road - starting May 25, 2026

  • End date extended to July 15
  • Road marking work

Street improvement work on Bates Road: May 19 to July 17, 2026

  • The eastbound lane will be closed to traffic between Wilerton and Glendale. 
  • The intersection of Pratt and Bates will be closed during the weeks of May 19, May 25, and June 10–17.
  • The intersection of Vimy and Bates will be closed from June 2 to June 17.
  • There will be a complete closure for the grading and paving phase during the week of July 6.

Contractor: Eurovia Inc.

Dates are approximate and subject to change.

Water Main Rehabilitation on Canora Road: May 11 to July 10, 2026

Please note that work to repair the drinking water pipes on CANORA began on Monday, May 11, 2026.

Disruption:

  • The southbound lane will be closed at all times
  • There will be a full closure on Thursday, May 14 only
  • Local traffic will be maintained at all times for affected residents (on Canora Road)

Construction period: May 11 to July 10, 2026

Contractor: Services d’infrastructures VORTEX inc.

Additional information: In case of an emergency, the contractor’s emergency service is available 24 hours a day at 579-229-0342.

Hydro-Québec

Work to clear vegetation from power lines by Hydro-Québec in the Town of Mount Royal

Check the map to see where vegetation management work will take place in 2026 and 2027. 

Rehabilitation of Water Main - Cornwall Avenue and Regent Road

The Town will be carrying out water main rehabilitation works, which will cause traffic disruption. Please check the detour routes for details of lane closures and the detour routes in place.

The water shut-off originally scheduled for 6 May has been postponed to Thursday 7 May 2026 on Regent and Cornwall, as part of the drinking water network upgrade works.

Date: Thursday 7 May 2026, from 7:00 to 15:00.

Duration: April 27, 2026 to June 27, 2026 

Work Details

Rehabilitation work on the Cornwall and Laird bridges

Work will start on April 20, 2026 on Cornwall bridge; once completed, work will start on Laird bridge. Please follow signage in place to ensure your safety.

Duration: April 20, 2026 to August 10, 2026 (extended)

Work details

Concrete work and other construction – Construction of the new Community and Sports Centre (CSC) 

Location: Roosevelt Avenue, between Moyle Road and Alexander Road 

Duration: October 2025 to June 2026 (possibility of extension) 

Schedule: Variable, Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:00 

Obstacles:

  • Closure of the right lane (eastbound) 
  • Closure of the sidewalk (eastbound)

Traffic management:

  • Alternating traffic
  • Signalers will be present to ensure the safety of road and sidewalk users

Guardrail installation work – Construction of fire station and administrative offices (30-40 Roosevelt)

Location: Roosevelt Avenue, between Moyle Road and Dunkirk Road (10 Roosevelt)

Duration: February 10, 2026, to July 2026 (Possible extension)

Schedule: At all times 

Obstacles:

  • Sidewalk closure (eastbound)
  • 2.4 m obstruction on the roadway (eastbound)

Traffic management:

  • Use the other sidewalk (westbound sidewalk)
  • Reduced eastbound lane; Roosevelt Avenue remains open to traffic in both directions
  • No parking in either direction

Redevelopment Roadwork on Bates Road

Work on Bates Road is, for all intents and purposes, complete for the current season. It will resume in the spring on the south sidewalks and will conclude with the grading and paving of the roadway. Parking is once again available on the north side of the street (westbound), but is no longer available on the south side (eastbound). A new work update will be published when work resumes.

Repair work on the Côte-Saint-Luc overpass above the Décarie Expressway will begin on September 2, 2025

Traffic disruptions and management - from September 2, 2025, until the end of 2026:

  • Partial night-time closures of Highway 15 (Décarie) in both directions.
  • Partial closures on Côte-Saint-Luc Road in both directions.
  • Occasional closures of the sidewalk on the structure.
