Urban Planning and Permits for Residents
Do I require a permit or certificate before starting work?
Generally, all work done on the exterior of your home requires a permit issued by the Town of Mount Royal.
Work performed inside requires a building permit when it is structure-related. You may also need a plumbing permit when adding or altering the number of residential units.
Before initiating your project, make sure to comply with the current municipal by-laws and obtain the necessary authorizations. Please refer to the Municipal By-laws page for further information.
It is forbidden to engage in construction work, of any nature whatsoever, that has the effect of emitting noise outdoors:
- Before 7:00 and after 20:00, from Monday to Friday
- Before 9:00 and after 17:00, on Saturdays
- On Sundays and statutory holidays

Subdivision

Site Preparation
For a signage authorization apllication, please complete the PDF form provided below with all required information. You may either submit it by email to urbanplanning@town.mount-royal.qc.ca or deliver it in person to the Urban Planning and Development Division located at 20 Roosevelt Avenue, Town of Mount Royal. Kindly ensure that all necessary documents are included with the application.
Please note that the certificate will be granted upon inspection approval of the construction site's proposed layout plan, which includes rigid fencing, infrastructure, trailer placements, tree protection measures, and access.
