As you probably know, there could be a strike at Canada Post before the end of this week. For this reason, we advise you not to send a cheque for your 2nd property tax payment to avoid late fees if your payment is received after the May 22, 2025 deadline.
To help you make your payment on time, here's a reminder of the options available to you other than sending cheques:
You can pay your tax bill and your water bill electronically by signing up for online banking services offered by most financial institutions.
To make your payment over the Internet – once in your bank’s website – you must select the proper account payable, as the Town of Mount Royal has two separate accounts for payment of its property tax and of its water bills. Each account payable is clearly identified as such.
You can come in person during office hours** to pay in cash, by cheque made out to the Town of Mount Royal or by debit card. Credit card payments will not be accepted.
Payment is charged to the account on the day it is received at our offices. It is therefore necessary to allow a minimum of two working days for this payment to reach us, regardless of the payment method used.
