Mount Royal, March 30, 2020– In light of the difficult situation the coronavirus has put us all in, the Town of Mount Royal would like to demonstrate its support to business owners and entrepreneurs. To ease the already heavy burden they face, the Town adopted a resolution at the March 23, 2020 Town Council meeting to defer the second municipal tax instalment to June 25, 2020. The Town Council also decided to apply a 0% interest rate on any debts currently due or outstanding until June 25.
In addition, in collaboration with PME-MTL Centre-Ouest, the Town has drawn up a list of designated advisors available to support TMR businesses in their various efforts.

In light of the health and safety measures currently in place, only essential services remain open. The most recent list of services and activities still in operation is available on the Government of Quebec website. All other businesses were given until March 25 to comply and asked to shut down operations until April 13. However, all types of businesses that can engage in teleworking and e-commerce are permitted to remain in operation.
Please note that daily updates related to businesses are available on the websites of the governments of Quebec and Canada. Measures to assist entrepreneurs are also being implemented by the Business Development Bank of Canada.
The Town also wishes to recall the initiative of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saint-Laurent–Mount Royal, which launched the “J’achète bleu” campaign to promote local and online Quebec businesses. It’s a great opportunity to discover local suppliers and help local businesses through this uncertain and challenging time.
