The building of a new state-of-the-art recreation and sports complex is scheduled to begin during fall of 2019. The construction work includes the demolition and replacement of the existing Rec centre.

The Town has been preparing a contingency plan for the various programs and activities during the construction process, and the vast majority of them will continue to run. Agreements have been reached with both the Mount Royal United Church and the Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, thereby adding their facilities to other temporary locations like Town Hall and the Country Club for the relocation of activities.

With the construction scheduled to begin in September, the relocation of activities will begin in mid-August to have everything in place for the start of the fall session.

Specific details on the exact location of each activity will be announced in the coming weeks.

Registration counter and offices

During construction, the registration counter and administrative offices of the Recreation Department will be relocated to the Town Arena, ensuring ease of access to visitors.

Upcoming communications

Given the overall impact of this project, the Town intends to issue information on a regular basis and allow residents to follow the project's evolution, including through the Town’s website.

Besides further details on relocations, future communications will include information on the various programs and sports and recreational facilities of the new complex.

Questions and comments

The Town is set on making every effort to allay the inconveniences caused by the construction of the new complex.

At all times, residents are invited to forward any question they might have to complexe.sportif@ville.mont-royal.qc.ca.

Additionally, despite the construction process the telephone number for the registration counter will remain the same as always: 514 734-2928.
