Work to extend Taxiway B, which services the North Runway, to connect it to the main apron is progressing according to schedule. (A taxiway is the path that planes take to travel between runways and gates.)
During the period of this work, the normal use of the runways was modified because some access roads, which allow aircraft landing on the North Runway when winds are coming from the southwest to access the main apron, are closed and therefore they cannot go directly to the terminal gates. As a result, during southwesterly winds, the planes must land mainly on the South Runway and take off from the North Runway.
The end of the work is still scheduled for September 22 as planned.
