Return to regular runway use
ADM is beginning the next phase of the work for the extension of Taxiway B to the main apron. This work is necessary in order to maintain airport facilities to safety and reliability standards.
The phase of the work that required changing runway use when winds were from the southwest has been completed on schedule.
However, because of the weather forecast for the night of September 22, the work has been postponed for the next day as follows:
Southwesterly winds (present approximately 70% of the time):
In southwesterly wind conditions, NAV Canada favors the South Runway for departures and the North Runway for arrivals.
Departures:
South Runway (24L) mainly used – south Dorval
North Runway (24R) – north Dorval, Pointe-Claire
Arrivals:
North Runway (24R) mainly used – north Saint-Laurent, Ahuntsic-Cartierville
South Runway (24L) – south Saint-Laurent, TMR, Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension, Rosemont–La-Petite-Patrie
Northeasterly winds (present approximately 30% of the time):
In northeasterly wind conditions, NAV Canada favors the South Runway for departures and the North Runway for arrivals.
