Acknowledgements from Mayor Malouf

As the municipal election of 2025 comes to a close, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all residents of TMR.

Thank you for taking the time to speak with the candidates at your doors, to read about each platform, and to listen and ask thoughtful questions. Most importantly, thank you for exercising your right to vote — an essential part of the freedoms we enjoy in our democracy.

I would also like to recognize and thank all the candidates who stepped forward in this election. You each brought dedication, passion, and demonstrated your commitment to the best interests of our town.

A special thank you goes to the many volunteers who made this election possible, from those managing the elections process to those helping the candidates. Your time, energy, and support are what makes this democratic engine run. This has been a collective effort — and it would not have been possible without you.

Finally, I would like to congratulate those, like myself, who have been elected to serve. This new Town Council has received a clear mandate and carries the important duty of representing the residents of our beautiful municipality. I pledge anew my determination to work hand in hand with the member of the Town Council to move our community forward and to continue enhancing the quality of life that makes TMR such a special place to live.

We will achieve this by continuing our focus on four key pillars — the foundation of our next chapter:

• Building community and driving engagement through the new Community and sports centre, creating a vibrant hub for residents of all ages.
• Managing the challenges of torrential rains through partnerships with other municipalities and forward-looking solutions that protect our homes and our town.
• Prioritizing security and enabling mobility, particularly with the arrival of the REM, while balancing the needs of all who share our roads, paths, and public spaces — so everyone can move safely and freely throughout our community.
• Optimizing our local commercial offerings to build relevant and thriving business centres that enhance our community.

Together, these initiatives will strengthen our sense of belonging, resilience, and pride as Townies — and ensure TMR continues to stand as a model of community, vitality, and quality of life.

Thank you once again for the trust you have placed in us. The best is yet to come.
