Why is this consent necessary?  

To offer you a fair and secure subsidy, the Town of Mount Royal must collect certain information about your property.  

This data will enable us to: 

  • Verify your eligibility for the Program.  

  • Ensure that the work complies with municipal standards.  

  • Improve healthiness and safety in our community.  

  • Conduct studies to better protect citizens from heavy rains. 

Your information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act. It will only be shared with partners mandated by the Town to carry out the Program. 

By-Law No. 1478 

Please read the following points carefully before submitting your application: 

  • I consent to the Town of Mount Royal collecting and using my information, evidence, and documents in connection with the Program, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.  

  • I consent to my data (information, evidence, and documents collected and produced as part of the Program) being used for municipal purposes (asset improvement, healthiness, safety, regulatory enforcement, studies, management of any type of claim or lawsuit against the Town of Mount Royal).   

  • I consent to my data being transmitted to partners mandated by the Town solely for the purpose of carrying out the Program.  

  • I agree, in the event of the sale of my property, to provide the purchaser with all information, evidence, and documents collected or produced under the Program. 

  • I acknowledge that if I provide false, inaccurate or misleading information in my eligibility application, I will lose the benefit of this Program and must reimburse the Town for the value of all services received. 

  • I have read the Privacy Policy and accept its terms and conditions in their entirety.  

  • I have read draft By-law No.1478, relating to the subsidized inspection program to reduce the vulnerability of certain buildings to water damage during extreme rainfall, and I accept its terms and conditions in their entirety. 

  • I agree to receive electronic communications (emails/text messages) related to the Program. 

  • I will be available during the expert's visit and will answer to the best of my knowledge any questions they may have about the property and the damage incurred. 

  • To be entitled to take advantage of the Program, the Applicant explicitly renounces any recourse, claim or action against the Town relative to the reports, their content or any alleged omission, error or inaccuracy or to the decisions made on the strength of these reports. The Applicant explicitly acknowledges that the Town assumes no liability for recommendations made pursuant to a report obtained under the Program and that the Town makes no representations or warranty as to the usefulness or effectiveness of any measure recommended in the reports. 

  • The Town and its elected officials, employees, agents and consultants assume no contractual, extra-contractual or other liability for any direct or indirect damage, loss, harm, cost or claim resulting from the inspection or the inspection report or from the use made of them. 

  • The reports may not be used for purposes of judicial proceeding, claim, proof or representation to third parties, including, in particular, buyers, sellers, lenders, insurers and public authorities. 

  • The Applicant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Municipality from any claim, action or demand brought by a third party resulting from the use, communication or interpretation of the reports. 

  • The Applicant remains wholly responsible for the maintenance, safety and compliance of his building and is encouraged, as needed, to retain the services of independent qualified professionals.
