Following information circulated in the media regarding the possible presence of asbestos in certain sand products used for the maintenance of clay tennis courts, the Town’s Recreation Department wishes to reassure residents.
The asbestos tests conducted on Friday, August 8, on the tennis courts at Mohawk and Connaught Parks have all come back negative. No traces of asbestos were found in the samples analyzed, confirming that the courts are safe for all users.
We remain attentive to any recommendations that may be issued by Santé Québec regarding the clay used on our tennis courts.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout this process.
