The Town Council is seeking 60 Townies willing to take part in three discussion groups each comprising 20 people to consult on the future of the building located at 900 Laird Boulevard.

Background

The parish has already announced that it intends to abandon the church in the coming weeks due to the general condition of the structure and the estimated costs to repair it. Since that decision was taken, the Diocese has decided to sell both the building and the land on which it stands.

Counsellors are seeking to gather ideas, suggestions, and feedback from the Townie community to guide their decision concerning the future of the building, a possible repurposing and the development of this area of the Town.

Prerequisites

As a Mount Royal resident, you need to register and be available to participate in the citizen's consultation evening to be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at the actual church (900 Laird Boulevard).

Agenda for May 28

18:30 – Arrival of participants
19:00 – Welcome remarks and presentation of building condition by the Diocese
19:30 – Site visit
20:00 to 21:30 – Discussions in three groups

As space is limited, please register by May 1, 2019, at the latest at st-peters@ville.mont-royal.qc.ca. The Town will contact you shortly after to confirm your attendance.
