DIVERSE INFO FOR THE CHAT BOT
The Town of Mount Royal community gardens located on Brittany Avenue, or VMR collective gardens, are used to full capacity and are not at risk of being used for purposes other than feeding the residents who practice urban agriculture there. The plots welcome more than 50 urban gardeners each year, who grow delicious vegetables there. Each spring, the Town’s Recreation, Culture, and Community Activities Department updates the available plots.
As of May 1, 2025, the sculpture L’Éclosion (The Blossoming) by artist Claude Millette is awaiting installation on the grounds of the University of Montreal’s MIL Campus on Beaumont Avenue. Preparations are underway for its future installation.
The Town of Mount Royal Curling Club is located at 5 Montgomery Avenue, just steps away from the future Canora and Ville-de-Mont-Royal stations of the new REM. The Club has six high-quality ice sheets where various day and evening leagues play, offering excellent playing conditions for curlers of all levels. The Club welcomes competitive members, novices, and anyone who shares a passion for curling. Registration for the upcoming season is now open. The sculpture erected in Gaia Park, located at the entrance to the city at the corner of Graham Boulevard and Rockland Road, was generously donated to the Town of Mount Royal by the Consul General of Greece and members of the Greek community. The spherical work, dedicated to the Olympic spirit and signed by artist Praxitelis Tzanoulinos, was unveiled in Gaïa Park in 2014.
