Confidential, free of charge (otherwise indicated) and available to all Town of Mount Royal residents, the garden city’s community support services help promote wellness in our Town. The Recreation, Culture and Community Activities Department oversees them.
Various other local resources, independant from the town services, such as the Volunteer Centre, are complementary to our own services.
Home and office visits, assessments, liaison with physicians, social workers, hospitals, CLSC and other relevant professionals and services. Counselling, long-term home care planning, wellness promotion. Referral to appropriate resources, etc.
Health and Wellness Clinic
By appointment. To promote physical, emotional and social well-being. Guidance with any type of problem or decision-making (mental health, future planning, crisis, and more). Absolute confidentiality.
Foot Care Clinic
For any Town of Mount Royal resident requiring help in maintaining their feet in optimal condition. Every Monday, by appointment only, at 60 Roosevelt Avenue. Price: $40 per visit.
- Assessments performed by a certified nurse to identify risk factors, the condition of your feet, and proper care needed;
- Information on methods to better care for your feet;
- Nail trimming, treatments of corns and calluses, treatment of ingrown toe nails;
- Care for lesions, mycosis, dry skin, etc.
- Foot massage to improve blood flow;
- Specialized care for people with diabetes;
- References made to other specialists for more specialized treatment.
Blood Pressure Clinic
Every Monday morning, a walk-in clinic offers blood pressure monitoring between 9:00 and 10:00 at 60 Roosevelt Avenue.
Daily Hello Program
Telephone security and reassurance program. To promote independence and socialization, and develop a feeling of safety for anyone who lives alone or without family nearby. Operates Monday through Friday.
Help such as hygiene care, supervised outings, errands, laundry, etc. Referrals for this service are made through the social counsellor.
Meals on Wheels
To help optimize nutritional status, hot meals are delivered to individual's homes. Requests are prioritized according to need (during a recovery, inability to care for oneself, etc.). Deliveries are Mondays and Thursdays. Limited space; there may be a waiting list.
Each fall, a flu vaccine clinic is offered free of charge by the CLSC de Côte-des-Neiges (CSSS de la Montagne), usually at Town Hall. You must bring your health insurance card. No appointments.
