Mount Royal, November 25, 2009 – With designers, decorators, architects, merchants, real estate brokers, builders and restorers in attendance, along with influential people and organizations from the interior design industry, the mayor of the Town of Mount Royal, Vera Danyluk, unveiled the new visual identity for the Quartier Design Royalmount yesterday. Over the years this industrial and commercial hub has grown and now offers the largest concentration of the best go-to places in the industry.

The Quartier Design Royalmount is home to almost 100 specialized professionals and businesses within a 700-metre radius, mainly established along the Town of Mount Royal’s Royalmount Avenue, hence the Quarter’s name. “This sort of concentration is unique and is testimony to the economic and creative magnetism of the Quartier Design Royalmount,” Ms. Danyluk says. “From the beginning, the Town of Mount Royal has been a partner and facilitator in the economic development of the Quarter, even though this falls somewhat beyond our administrative borders. It was time to officially recognize the Quarter’s existence by giving it its own image and promoting the merchants, craftspeople and professionals who have set up shop there or who are considering doing so.”

An image that reflects the incredible vitality and diversity of the Quarter

The vibrant colours and modular construction of the Quarter’s visual signature reflects its vitality and status as a destination for professionals and lovers of interior design. “The Quartier Design Royalmount’s major strength is in meeting the needs of consumers, designers, decorators, architects and craftspeople. The Quarter’s merchants complement each other, and the sector is increasingly sought out by interior design companies,” says Serge Bouchard, co-president of the Quarter’s businesspeople’s association, the Association des gens d’affaires du Quartier Design Royalmount, and owner of Nouvelle Cuisine. “The Quarter’s offering is rich and so far unmatched,” says Urban Patio’s Ms. Lazanis, Bouchard’s co-president. “The Quarter offers a wide variety of merchants, wholesalers and the latest in equipment and accessories, a made-to-measure manufacturing capacity, as well as very high quality specialized services and consulting. It’s hard to find all this in one place anywhere else in Quebec!”
