Call for Nominations – ONE PROFESSIONAL MEMBER POSITION (URBAN PLANNER or ARCHITECT or LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT) to be filled on the Planning Advisory Committee (CCU).

Application deadline: Friday, March 1, 2024, 16:00.

Under By-law No. 1434, Mount Royal Town Council is calling for nominations for the position of one professional member (urban planner or architect or landscape architect) on the Planning Advisory Committee (CCU).

The CCU is formed of seven voting members: Councillors Daniel Pilon and Caroline Decaluwe, who serve as co-chairs, a citizen called the “appointed citizen” and four other professional members chosen from among Town residents for their educational background and expertise in the fields of urban planning, architecture and landscape architecture.

The CCU meets every second week, usually on Friday mornings, to review permit applications (building, renovation, signs, etc.). It evaluates the projects based on Site Planning and Architectural Integration By-law No. 1449 (PIIA) and submits its recommendations to Town Council

Requirements: Candidates must be bilingual and reside in Town of Mount Royal. They must also be members of the Ordre des urbanistes du Québec, the Ordre des architectes du Québec or the Association des architectes paysagistes du Québec.

The holder of this position must undertake to comply with the CCU’s rules of internal governance and contribute to the CCU’s work in compliance with Council’s orientations regarding residential redevelopment and the Site Planning and Architectural Integration Program.

The term of office of the appointed professional members of the CCU is two years after the adoption of their appointment by resolution of Council.

Compensation is $500 per meeting attended by the professional member.

Candidates are invited to submit their résumé and a cover letter describing their interest in the position by 16:00, on Friday March 1, 2024. The documents may be emailed, mailed or delivered in person to:
