Construction work on the new sports and community complex in Mount Royal will begin in early 2020. Initially planned for September 2019, the relocation of the activities and offices of the Recreation, Culture and Community Activities Department will therefore take place only in January.

The Town of Mount Royal will hold a Remembrance Day Ceremony in cooperation with the Scouts, Girl Guides and Canadian Forces. The event will take place at Peace Park, across from the Town Hall, on Sunday November 10, starting at 13:00.

Nature of work:
Concrete work is scheduled for October 26-27 on the west side of Mont-Royal Station to pour the concrete slab for the new foundation. Concrete finish work will take place in the afternoon and should continue until work is complete, possibly extending into evening and night hours.
Impacts and mitigation measures:
The work will generate noise, vibrations and dust. In the event that work extends into evening hours, lighting will need to be set up. Environmental experts will monitor noise to ensure project criteria are met.
* Due to the nature of the activities being performed, work cannot be interrupted while it is in progress; it must be completed so as to maintain the integrity of the existing infrastructure. Should this situation arise, the work period will be extended to complete the work already begun.

Beginning July 12, 2019, the logistics zone set up on Canora Road, at the intersection of Regent Road, will be expanded for the next phase of work. Material and equipment, including a power shovel, will be installed in the logistics zone to move materials between the logistics zone and the site.The work will require truck traffic in the neighbourhood; traffic patterns have been altered to minimize traffic and secure the construction zones. Flaggers and signs posted all around the construction site will ensure that pedestrians and vehicles can move about safely.
- One lane on Canora Road will be closed to vehicles between Regent Road and slightly before the intersection with Laird Boulevard.
- Parking will be prohibited in the zone.

The work will require truck traffic in the neighbourhood; traffic patterns have been altered to minimize traffic and secure the construction zones. Flaggers and signs posted all around the construction site will ensure that pedestrians and vehicles can move about safely.
- One lane on Canora Road will be closed to vehicles. Pedestrians will be permitted on the sidewalk on the east side of the street, and driveways to homes will be maintained.
- One westbound lane on West Jean-Talon Street will be closed between Canora Road and Dunkirk Road.
The logistics zone on the west side of Dunkirk Road will be maintained during that period of time.
