- Roads and maintenance
- Info construction
Date : January to June 2020, mostly on weekdays, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where : Canora and Mont Royal Stations
Nature of work:
From March 30, 2020, the partial suspension of service on the Deux-Montagnes line between the Du Ruisseau and Central stations will allow different work phases to be carried out on that segment, including removal and conversion of the catenary system (overhead electrical wire system used to power the train, which will now power the REM), as well as removal of the rails and stone ballasts on which the rails were installed. New rails meeting REM specifications will eventually be installed.
Here is an overview of the work to be done in the coming months (dates are subject to change):
* From January to April, work will be carried out in winter conditions, which requires snow removal and the use of heating equipment for concreting activities.
Impacts and mitigation measures:
The goal of the REM project office and the NouvLR consortium is to mitigate the impact on surrounding residents and ensure everyone’s safety by taking all appropriate measures.
- This work may generate noise, vibration and dust.
- The stations' steel structure will be erected using a low-impact bolting method, to mitigate sound impact.
- Some of the work will require truck traffic in the neighbourhood; traffic pattern changes may be setup to minimize construction traffic and secure the construction zones.
