• Sports and Recreation

The Town is about to embark on one of its largest projects, the construction of a new sports and community complex. The long-awaited complex, which many residents have been requesting for several years now, should finally break ground in the coming months.

The preparations are progressing very well. However, to ensure that all details and requirements are addressed, the actual construction work will begin in early 2020, as opposed to late 2019. By delaying the start of construction, the preliminary construction work will not be carried out in the heart of winter. This delay should not impact the completion date of fall 2021.

Relocations

In consideration of the slight delay in the start of construction, the relocation of activities and offices will now take place in January. Specific details on the relocation plans will be made known in the coming weeks, but since then, the programs and activities will remain at the Recreation Centre until the end of 2019.

Brochure

The next edition of the Recreation brochure is being delivered this week. As a result of the adjustments to the relocation plans and schedule only a brochure for the Fall session has been printed. Another brochure will be sent out in late November for the Winter session and include specific details on the relocations.
