Mount Royal, March 29, 2007 – Town of Mount Royal has put its new website online today. In doing so, the Town has significantly increased the amount and quality of information it distributes electronically. The content of the new site is geared mainly to the needs of current residents. By extension, families and other people seeking to move to a peaceful, friendly and lushly green community located only minutes from downtown Montreal will also find that the new website contains information likely to interest them.

The new Town of Mount Royal website expands access to many tools, including the most frequently consulted by-laws, which are now online; a directory of businesses and services, all of whose locations can be displayed on an interactive map; and a dynamic calendar of activities taking place within the Town limits. Also included is all the contact information necessary to communicate easily with the Town’s various departments, be it by mail, telephone, fax or, with a simple mouse click, e mail. In addition, users will find useful information and advice grouped by theme, such as having fun with the family, protecting the environment and disposing of household waste.

Still considered a “model city,” Mount Royal is taking advantage of this opportunity to spotlight, via the Web, the special qualities of its facilities, amenities and many green spaces. Visitors to the website will also be able to learn some of the more interesting facts about the Town’s history.

Mount Royal’s new website will continue to evolve, incorporating leading-edge technology and new applications. Future enhancements may include online registration for activities organized by the Town and online consultation of residents on key issues.

While the website is new, its address remains the same. Visit Town of Mount Royal online at www.ville.mont-royal.qc.ca.
