Mount Royal, June 17, 2019 – The new Marché d’ici will be taking shape in just a few days—the Town of Mount Royal will be bringing a wide range of local Montréal farm products to the heart of this garden city. On Thursday afternoons and early evenings, Townie families are invited to celebrate all things good, green, organic and local on Moyle Road. Moyle Road is both centrally located and well-known and leads from the recreation centre to Connaught Park.
The launch of the new summer market on Thursday, June 20, coincides exactly with the return of the popular food trucks to Connaught Park, whose weekly schedule is available at cuisinederue.org. The trucks serve locals and visitors from 17:00 to 21:00. The public market is open from 15:00 to 19:00.
The Town of Mount Royal is also pleased to announce its upcoming tulip bulb distribution. On Thursday, June 20, citizens are invited to come along to Connaught Park as of 15:00 to receive a free bag of tulip bulbs. Simply bring proof of residence. This highly popular activity is an annual opportunity for Townies to enjoy these freshly picked bulbs from the Town’s flowerbeds. Distribution will continue as long as supplies last. (In case of rain, the distribution will take place on Wednesday, June 26 instead, i.e. during Summerfest, at Danyluk Park.)
Lastly, the new water games in Dakin Park will be open to the public this week, possibly on Thursday too. The new entertainment area is both colourful and exciting and replaces an old wading pool. The conversion will mean that it can stay open longer as there is no need anymore for lifeguards to be present to access it. The Town also anticipates renewed interest in Dakin Park’s recreational installations and an increase in visitors.
This Thursday, Mont-Royal is officially ready to celebrate summer! Families are invited to Connaught Park and Dakin Park for their first taste of the summer fun.
