When it comes to speeding, reality can be shocking: the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) tells us that the majority of road safety fines in TMR are issued to Townies.
It is hard to believe this is the case in a garden city that many people appreciate for its tranquility and peaceful way of life. Instinctively, speeding is more readily attributed to drive-through traffic, yet the official figures say otherwise.
This summer, the Town is rolling out a road safety campaign specifically aimed at its residents. Starting this week, ten different poster designs have been placed on both sides of the ten large-format signs that the Town uses along its boulevards on its medians.
All ten designs share a same theme: “On our streets, we look after those we love.”
The Town thanks you for driving safely.
