Despite the uncertain fate of the Halloween festivities, there's no reason why we can' t be creative and get in the spirit as we celebrate!

This year, Mayor Philippe Roy, along with the six district councillors, decided to hold a contest to encourage Townies to turn their houses into enchanted dwellings that will bedazzle princesses and superheroes or make werewolves, witches and zombies quiver...

The purpose of the contest is to inspire families to have fun livening up their neighbourhood for Halloween and enjoy others’ creations when they go for walks, while still respecting health guidelines.

Prizes to win

Participants will be able to compete under two different categories: the most decorated house and the scariest house. The big winners in each category will receive a $100 gift certificate to one of the Mount Royal restaurants offering take-out meals to share with the occupants of the home. Consult the list of restaurants open in Mont-Royal.

The contest is open to all TMR residents. To participate, decorations must be up before Tuesday, October 27, 2020.

The Mayor and councillors will be crisscrossing the Town (some in the company of their children or grandchildren) between October 27 and 29 inclusive, to choose the winners for each category.

The winning houses will be announced on the TMR website and Facebook page on Halloween.

The more the scarier!
