Town of Mount Royal, October 18, 2007 – Mrs. Vera Danyluk, Mayor of the Town of Mount Royal, is inviting all residents to the Reginald J.P. Dawson Library on Sunday, October 21, 2007, at 14:00, to mark the 40th anniversary of the library’s inauguration at 1967 Graham Boulevard.

With guest of honour Mr. Michel Phaneuf, a Mount Royal resident and author of the Guide du vin for the past 27 years on hand for the occasion, residents are invited to come meet the members of Town Council and to share a light snack with them.

Visitors will also get to see an exhibit called "The library in 1967", which includes vintage photographs and books that were published 40 years ago. Also, "I love my library" bracelets will be handed out to children.

The Mount Royal Library opened its doors on October 15, 1953, and then moved to its current location on Graham Boulevard in 1967. In 1976, it was named in honour of Reginald J.P. Dawson, who was celebrating his 25th anniversary as Mayor.

The library offers its 6,500 members a vast collection of over 165,000 printed and audiovisual documents, in both French and English.
