On January 15, I was privileged to attend, as 300 business people, an important event for the Town of Mount Royal community. After years of discussion, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saint-Laurent officially incorporated the Town of Mount Royal territory and adopted the new name of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saint-Laurent–Mont-Royal. The occasion was celebrated in the most appropriate way by a networking evening.
Already known as one of the greatest and most dynamic chambers of commerce in Quebec, it can now grow further by adding Town of Mount Royal to its sphere of influence.
There is a common misconception that Town of Mount Royal is only a posh residential area. However, close to 1,200 corporations do business here. Whether in the industrial zone west of Décarie, in the Beaumont or Lucerne areas, downtown or housed in Rockland Centre, year after year, these businesses attract approximately 20,000 workers on a daily basis. Thus, they are directly involved in the Town’s economic development.
The new Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saint-Laurent–Mont-Royal appears to be a new invaluable tool for corporate networking and partnership, and emerges as an advocate and proud partner for our Town’s economic development.
I commend the efficient and outstanding job done by Mr. William Habib, the Chamber’s president and a Mount Royal resident. I wish him and the Chamber great success in this new challenge.
