- On the Calendar
As part of our Earth Day 2019 events, we offer two activities on Sunday, April 14.
To mark the launch of our Seed Lending Library, we are offering a workshop led by Patrice Fortier, founder of the company La société des plantes. You will learn plant harvesting and storage techniques, strategies to prevent varietal hybrids, and ways to maintain plant lineages. Activity in French, in the exhibition hall of R.J.P. Dawson Library at 13:00 pm.
Registration at the circulation desk or at 514 734-2967 only.
Then you are invited to assist to the bilingual lecture titled Organic lawns: for an attractive, earth-friendly lawn! given by Micheline Lévesque. Micheline Lévesque is a biologist and agronomist who holds an ISA-certified MSc in arboriculture and a Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ). For the last 30 years, she has worked as an ornamental horticulture and agronomy consultant. She is also a co-recipient of the Phénix de l’Environnement award. At the lecture, you will learn pro tips and tricks for growing your lawn without using pesticides or chemical fertilizers but while saving water. About one hour in length, the lecture will take place at the R. J. P. Dawson Library at 15:30 pm.
Registration by Thursday, April 11, online or by calling 514 734-2967. But hurry! The number of seats is limited.
