Conference by Jean-Sébastien Marsan, author and journalist.
Quebec appears to be a “distinct amorous society”, but it is not. The Quebec nation is a prisoner of myths, clichés, conformism, standards, and above all, it’s a history. Delving into the past, we see that while Quebecers have discarded religious marriage and have become champions of free union, their culture of love remains as rigid as it was in the 19th century.
