Important: please be aware that reservations and renewals cannot be made through e-mail or by leaving a message on the answering system.

Do it online using the Member Services

With your library card number (login) and password, you can consult your user file, renew your documents and reserve online using our online catalogue.

If you do not have a password, come to the library with your card or call the library with your card number. An employee will ask for your date of birth to verify your identity.

Please be advised that between 00:30 and 2:00, access to the online catalogue and member services is not available due to daily back-ups and updates to the system.

  • Renewals
Click on Member Services on the online catalogue to view your profile summary and renew any given document.
  • Reservations (Holds)
Make a search, find an item that you would like to reserve and click the Holds button on the online catalogue. Please note that only documents currently borrowed may be reserved through online member services. Once you have been advised that your reservation is available, you have three days to pick it up at the library.

Notification

Instead of getting a phone call for overdue or reserved items, please provide us with your email address to receive notifications electronically: library@town.mount-royal.qc.ca.

Home delivery service

If it is difficult for you to come to the library, you could be eligible for our home delivery service. For more information, please contact Kathleen Dickson at the bottom of this page.

If your eyes are playing tricks on you…

If your eyesight makes it hard for you to read, you’ll appreciate having access to large-text books, talking books and a magnifier that makes it possible to read otherwise illegible fine print on forms and instructions. Ask our librarians!

Suggestions and Inter Library Loans (ILL)

If the book you are looking for is not in our collection we invite you to make a suggestion for purchase, or request an inter library loan (peb.ill@ville.mont-royal.qc.ca). If your suggestion falls under the library’s accession criteria the item will be bought for you and the benefit of other members.

Any member can ask for an inter library loan for a book or an article that the library does not possess, however, certain items such as CDs, DVDs, or recently published books are not available via ILL.

Book donations

The library accepts donations of books in good condition with relatively up to date information. Depending on the needs of the library, donations are either integrated into the collection or added to the book sale table.
